I heard the news that BITD will not be running the Bluewater Desert Challenge this year, does this seem permanent? Also will it effect the 425?

I think you have your story wrong, the tribe wants more money as they are known for bad business moves, this one might fit right in that pattern. Sucks cause it was one of my favorite races of the year, need to get Havasu to host a race.

Jesse (scootin newton) was being sarcastic. He is a Parker local and probably knows more than most on the situation

Handlebar entry for next months' Parker 250 went up $50.
Entry = $650
Membership = $60
Transponder = $95
RacingTrax = $165

And still might only get 2 laps/150 miles for $1k... No thanks we'll run CODE/Record instead!

I heard about this weekend and was told it was for 2018 not 2017. If you're right, then my friend was wrong. He sometimes is.

But the 2017 race is still on the BITD as being in Parker in October

Everything that i have heard from people at the awards is that it is in effect for the 2017 race. I really wish we could get one more year but unfortunately looks like we will be heading to a town in the middle of nowhere again instead of hanging out on the river after the races:/ Henderson and now parker. I am not sure what this means for the 2018 "425". Im assuming that it is not looking good for that either. We will be racing the "BFE 400" next year it seems like.

From the BITD website

The BlueWater Desert Challenge presented by Polaris
has been moved for the 2017 racing season, we will not be going to Parker in October, please make all the necessary changes you need to make regarding hotel reservations made. We will now be promoting the October race in Tonopah NV.

Parker 425 is about 90% on BLM/State/County land, if the tribal council doesn't want to support off-road racing anymore, the main pit will have to move out to Shea Road Like it used to be in the 90's. Also, tech and contingency would just have to come back downtown... ah shucks.

Also, if you are in Parker and stop at any store on the reservation, look at your tax rate on alcohol and processed foods (ex: anything sold ready to consume).

I really hope the Tribes can continue to work with Casey as well as the local government and business leaders as this decision hurts far more than the racers. BWDC was a very fun race, and brought a lot of money to the area.

Losing ANY race is bad for the sport.

Havasu was in the works for a BITD race a few years back, but got shot down somewhere along the way... maybe it needs a second look?

We looked into a race and had meetings about a Havasu surrounding area when I was the AZ rep with SNORE. Hit a dead end because of dust and environmental impact. Its a shame there is plenty of room and if Casey cant get it done I doubt if anyone can. We are doomed its only a matter of time until racing events will be in OHV parks or private land in Calif , AZ and Nevada.

This is for the 2017 calendar. It will all be updated this week. Dates remain the same. Location is now Tonopah.

Tonopah has proven they want to work with BITD and will have the race for 2017.

Casey is always working on plans and back up plans that many don't realize. For instance last year at Vegas to Reno there were numerous permits on file for alternate courses in case the monument didn't go through.

This course and race is one of several Casey already had in his bag of tricks ready to go to permit phase.

Parker Bluewater has been my favorite race for years. Hopefully at some point it will be worked out.

From what I heard, The casino did not want to continue to be the title sponsor due to the cost of it. I was hoping that it meant there was a possibility of a new title sponsor and the race would remain. Obviously not! I'm sure there is different options so the casino wouldn't have to fork up as much as there saying.
