Well, I am certanly stoked to find out next year will be the first year I will be able to go to the TT 250, CART Long Beach race, and the IRL season opener in Phoenix. Missed Long Beach last year because of the TT 250, which I would never miss, and the IRL race was the best asphalt race I have ever seen. Any of you open wheel fans, and gone to watch an event. The sounds of those naturally aspirated ear piercing IRL motors is the best.

Just found out that Penske will not be running CART teams next year. He is going to take all of the Marlboro sponsorship out of CART and put it all into 2 IRL teams next year. On top of this Honda said it will be quitting CART after next year. CART also doesnt have a TV deal next year except for Speedvision and I guess CART is going to have to pay speedvision to air the races. We all know what speedvision has done for off road. Lets just say CART is doomed, especially after all of the manufacturers are pissed because of the motor change and all of the money it will cost them to research new ones, not to mention they are running even less USA races than they did last year, trying to make it international. I also heard a lot of the multi car teams are dropping one of their cars for next year, leaving a lot of good drivers out of a ride. Can you say Bye bye CART and hello IRL.

I'd hate to see us lose the LBGP race. CART is still scheduled to run it on April 14th. That race is the biggest party there is. I've seen celebrities, rock stars, porn stars, all the things that make America great. Long Beach has the highest TV ratings since CART lost the Indy. Damn.........

They are still keeping the lbgp as far as I know, but I dont think it will be as huge as it was last year. I mean what is CART without Penske and Marlboro. If one of their biggest sponsors, and their most dominant team thank its time to leave, go figure. If CART fails, its possible IRL will start doing road courses, and I am sure the long beach race will be one of them, but from what I have read they will not travel outside the USA.
