“The Outlaw” Gets Support From Off-Road Super Fans

The Off-Road Super Fans are known throughout the land as hard core off-road racing enthusiasts. Over the years, their unofficial membership has grown from a few, to nearly one hundred short course fans. You can always find the Super Fan headquarters at any Midwest off-road racing event, just look for the circus tent and the crowd of people relaxing as they barbeque and enjoy a few cold drinks after a great day of short course off-road racing. It’s not uncommon to see to some of the biggest names in off-road racing stopping by just to say hello and share a few stories. Racers like Scott Douglas and Mike Oberg are regular visitors to the BIG TOP.

Over the winter, the leaders of the Off-Road Super Fans, Brian, Mike, Nate, and Nitro, wanted to show their appreciation to the sport they so intensely enjoy. This spring the Super fans made the trip to Texas for the opening round of the Traxxas TORC Series presented by AMSOIL. After the trip the guys realized they needed to find a way to help support the sport. The Off-Road Super fans decided to give their support to one of their favorite Sportsman racers, Al “The Outlaw” Konitzer.

The monetary donations from twenty-six Super fans raised $700 for the Stock Truck Racer, Al Konitzer. Brian, Mike, Nate, and Nitro gathered everyone together Saturday evening of the Spring Crandon race and presented Al and his crew with a very much appreciated check.

In addition, Scott Swendson from Swendson Motorsports, www.wisconsinsynthetics.com to support Al and his Mole Lake Casino Dodge with AMSOIL products for the rest of the season.

Al brought the truck and entire team over for the presentation and was taken back by the actual amount of the check. “When the guys asked If I could come over to the tent so the Off-Road Super Fans could present the team with a sponsorship opportunity, I figured they wanted feed us a few burgers and drink a couple of sodas. Then to have this check for $700, WOW! This means a lot to me and the team, we’re all volunteers, and to have a group of fans get together to help us out like this, it’s special. Thanks to everyone, we will wear the name proud.”

After the check presentation, everyone watched as the www.offroadsuperfans.com decal was placed on each front fender.

Then more photos were taken as the Off-Road Super Fans and Al Konitzer’s crew stood around the blue Mole Lake Casino Dodge truck. Afterwards, everyone hung around for some bench racing and a few more cold drinks.

The next day, Al Konitzer brought the Mole Lake Casino Off-Road Super Fans Dodge truck out to compete in Round 2 of the Traxxas TORC Series presented by AMSOIL. After a tough battle with Scott Beauchamp, Al crossed the finish line in second place. During the podium celebration, Al mentioned all his sponsors, supporters and added a special thanks to the Off-Road Super Fans.

The next race the Off-Road Super Fan will be attending is the UP Off-Road 100 in Bark River, Michigan on July 11-12.

The Off-Road Superfans are very serious about their off-road racing.

I believe this is probably the first true organized fan club of short-course off-road racing.

NASCAR may have "Junior Nation", but TORC has "THE OFF-ROAD SUPERFANS."

Look for more great things to come as Labor Day Crandon gets closer from Brian, Nitro, Mike, and Nate Dawg.

If you are in Bark River look for the BIG TOP Circus tent, they will probably be showing showing Off-Road movies and video on the Big Screen. Their Audio Visual guy, Mike has a great setup that's PC based.

I agree, great offer from Scott Swendson and AMSOIL. Remember to support those that support off-road racing.

Add two more podiums at Bark River for Al "The Outlaw" Konitzer, one of which was a first place. Congrats to the whole team.
