Hello. My name is Andy. I’m new to Race Dezert but not new off road racing. My dad and much of my family are from Crandon Wisconsin so I grew up going to the short course races and still have family that race.

I do have a question for you all. I inherited a fairly clean 1966 F100 short wheelbase 2wd truck and really want to built it into an old school desert truck. I have been looking around for a while and I can’t seem to quite find what guys would do to build a truck for Baja racing in the 60’s and 70’s. Anyone point me in the right direction? So far my plan is Auto fab beams, springs and trailing arms with dual Bilstein shocks for the front and Deaver leaf springs and Bilsteins in the rear.

not much mods to race in 60s, i vote make it a ' hay hauler ' clone, yes, autofab stuff is the way to go, me, i would do your route, and keep it like walkers truck, low key but real clean

ChopMoto’s 66 is my all time favorite truck but I don’t want to back half my 66.

I realize this isn't a 2wd, but looked to be an amazing build - albeit not a vintage recreation. I would have loved to thrash this about! The selling price was not that bad considering what it probably cost to build and the quality of it...
