Kinda a long shot a rock crawler thing but a few ultra 4 teams race on them . It would be nice to talk spring rate pressures and set ups with others who do it . I’m setting up my 18” that have been upgraded to remote resevoir .

There is a ton of info and knowledgeable people about them on IBB.

Not to take away from ORIs, but they work mostly for low speed rock crawling and that's about it. Reddots are very successful with them.

If you get the model with the really big resi, they work great, but you still need bumpstops and a sway bar, which is one of the reason why people starting buying them (not needing all the extra stuff). Problem is, the big resi shocks are insanely expensive and you could buy bypass / coilovers for the cost of these. So why wouldn't you, since they work better ? That's what I did on my rig.

they are also a lot more complex, a lot more parts inside and if you have a leak, you're screwed. Even a coilover with nothing inside will get you home on the springs alone.

I’ve been on them since 2014 and I know all about the good and bad of them . I can’t compare them to coil overs bypass sway bar bump stop , because I’ve never had my truck set up with that , but they do all those jobs in one tight package well enough . Not looking to debate what’s better with someone who has never tried them .

Took it to work and flexed it out to check everything ( got to move my big ax resin’s) . They already fell great just winging it around the street

I’m finally ready for shock tuning in the sand dunes tomorrow morning ( yeah first world problems ) after a major redo I’m sure I will find stuff to tweak . But I am blown away at the handling of the new ORI struts. I can throttle thru corners on the street and my truck don’t body roll and stays planted . Hoping for a good report on the whoops!!
