Something else in that article caught my eye. It says "The result was Henderson lost the Mint 400 and the Henderson 250." The Henderson 250 is now the Pahrump Nugget 250. That makes sense. What does it mean that Henderson lost the Mint 400? The article goes on to say "The town of Laughlin will get the Mint 400." Will the 2017 Mint 400 be in Laughlin?

Speculating, I'm not in the know...but I'd guess that info is wrong. I'm guessing it's referring to the Silver State, not the Mint being replaced by Laughlin. BITD and Mad Media had a 5 year permit for the Mint as of what, 3 years ago? I'd be confident in betting the article has just gotten the races mixed up.

If the mint 400 move to Laughlin that wouldn't be such a bad thing. You could stay in the same Hotel all week and it wouldn't cost you an arm and leg.You wouldn't have to drive anywhere all the events would be within 1,2 or 3 blocks from any hotel and the whole town will turn into one big party

I can give you some insight on the Pahrump Race:

It will be a 250 mile loop race. Start and end in downtown Pahrump at the Nugget.

It will be a Car, Truck and UTV event only. No bikes or quads. (As a side note for those that are not aware, the Blue Water Challenge will be adding a heat on each day for MC and Quads and will be the end of their points race for the year)

The course that has been chosen is a mix of some that was run last time BITD was there and some that has not been run by any organization in over 10 years.

BITD is very excited about going back to Pahrump.

Other stuff:

The Mint is not moving from the Jean area as under its current 5 year deal that is the area it is staying.

BITD is actively working on 2017 and beyond. All permits for all 2017 will be applied for within the next two weeks. As is typical, expect all the announcements for next years schedule and events to come out at the Vegas to Reno! If you are still on the fence about V2R, I hope you join it. As much work as a multi day event is, I don't know how many of these Casey will pull off again. And I am fairly sure none will race through a designated National Monument again.

I guess maybe most people on here don't remember this race when it was the Terribles Town 250 when Herbst sponsored the event. Was awesome when they used to start wide open right in town out of the back of Terribles casino there and the drivers meeting was next to the lake at the Terribles RV park. Used to do it in April when the weather was just perfect. You could chase as a spectator and see the leaders at race speed 4-5 times during the day.

There will be several areas where you will be able to see them twice without really moving more than a couple miles. But it should be easy for race teams to cover all pits with no more than 2 trucks.

Pahrump, The best Point to Point race in the USA.. If it's one Loop is that still considered Point to Point. Glad to be back in that area.
Thanks BITD.
If it is OK with Victor, I have footage of Big Bro on the first 65 miles of the course.. From the 2006 Terribles Town race,I am assuming it is starting at race speed out of Johnnie's. Being there is no Pre-Fun-Run.

See everyone in December, I have a sale on Columbia Winter Jackets and apparel.
