Here's the few shots I got before dropping my camera and breaking it dodging a roosted baseball sized rock.

Bummer to hear about the camera. Have you considered one of the sling type straps that mount to the camera and run across your body so you can lift to shoot then let it hang without worry. Or one of the wrist straps, where it is basically strapped to your hand. Might be worth looking into...

I have the Canon CPS OpTech strap and it is very nice, I have been thinking of buying the OpTech sling kit too. My son bought us other slings already and we use them often but the padding on the OpTech is so nice!!!

Great shots, sorry to hear about your camera. Would you happen to have any of 6017?

Unfortunately, taking pictures is secondary to my duties as a course worker, so I pick up the camera when I can, but have to set it down in a hurry, if I have to respond to something or jump in the RZR. Just need to be more careful!!! Hopefully I can sell enough stuff on eBay so I can have a new one by the Mint.

10-4. What do you shoot on? At major events I am shooting with both my wife and son and we have two Canon 40Ds and a 7D, then I bought a 7D mkII and SL1 over the black Friday sales, but we haven't used those at events yet. I wanted something lighter for my wife and hope the SL1 will work well for her.

I know that Canon has a loyalty program where they offer a discount toward a refurb Canon camera to replace your broken Canon. They also have pretty reasonable repair rates. I would think Nikon has something similar...

Both of our 40Ds are now reserved for backup duties so if you are interested and it would help you out PM me an offer...
