Why is it that nobody is talking about this race? If it is anything like last year there should be a great turn out. Has anyone seen an entry list? Is the Legend dead or just resting waiting for everyone to show up un announced race weekend?

Yeah, its only two weeks away so lets start talking about it...... I can't wait for this race, especially now that BITD is sanctioning it, I think it will be on of the best parker races ever, although I have to admit it will be my first Parker. Kyle Taylor is going to smoke everyone in Trophy Truck class, infact I predict he will take the overall. So Jimmy B., will this be the debue race for your new trophy Truck? I can't wait to see that thing either, this is going to be such an awesome event. Yeah, the entry list is awesome, and I think just that list will make it the best race of the season I hope. Oh yeah, I also predict Bob Graham to get the 7s win. Woops, I almost forgot to ad that Harley Letner will be in his Trophy Truck racing, can't wait to see how he does against the big guys in TT class, as he is a nutty ( and fast!) driver.

P.S. Is anyone staying at Havasu Springs for this race? If so PM me and maybe we'll cause some havoc.......haha :)

DIRT'S FOR RACING, PRERUNNERS ARE FOR GETTING THERE!

Entry list was 125 I think as of last Friday...should be bitchen, especially with a qualifying session! Turnout will be in the 150 range I bet.

We'll be there for sure! Our first BITD race and we're looking forward to it. Can't wait to see Kyle Taylor...I hear he's an animal! Jimmy, is it true your trophy truck is going to be ready??? Having never been to a race out there, can anyone tell us what the layout is, where the best spots to watch will be, where contingency is, etc?

As of yesterday, Class 1 had 25 vehicles entered. Although I do not have all of the names, here is a partial list: Weyhrich, Gaughan, Dean, Hovey, James, Lofton, Romans, Darland, Chase, Wood, Coppola, Koch, Thieriot, Stewart(Ryan), Ebberts, Croll, Berri, Colan, Voyles.

There will be a drawing for the order in which you qualify at around noon on Thursday, with qualifying to start at 2:00p. No one knows for sure where we will be running, but we have been told to go to Shea Road to unload and register our cars.

There will be spectating on the qualifying section and times will be posted there. They were also working on having the times announced at the bar in the Bluewater Casino, but I don't know if this is going to happen.

Shea Road is a unique spectating opportunity because you are on the edge of Osbourne Wash, about 20 feet above the vehicles. While it is definitely worth going out there to check it out, be careful if you go! There used to be a lot of head on wrecks in years past, so BLM is always on that road and they give tickets to anyone for anything. It is a long road, and I think there is only a 25 or 35 mph speed limit, so be patient. I got a ticket there last year for going 27 mph in a 25 mph section.

With the exception of Qualifying on Thursday, all pre-race activities will be at the Bluewater Hotel & Casino.

jen the best spot i think is out on shea to park and then walk out to the jeep trail. about a ten minute walk there is one really good jump ou there i dont know how to explain where on the jeep trail but i have been going there for the last ten yrs except when they would not let us, but it appears they will this yr. i have seen mostly tt's do crazy stuff off of it. Gordon flew about 80' or so and almost tipped over backwards then took out some spectators ice chests. i dont know who you are but ill be there all weekend so if i see ya ill show you how to get out there

The new truck will not be ready for Parker. We are hoping to have it ready sometime by the end of this year. I know I have said certain races in the past, but I really can not give a specific one it will be at. We know what we are shooting for, but we are not trying to push the issue because we want the thing to be right when its done. Its also a matter of funding, and we just don't have the resources to drop 250,000 at a moments notice. We are currently working on some major funding and if that goes through it will happen a lot sooner. In the meantime I will be running the class 8 in trophy truck. I want to get as much experience against these guys as I can, so when the truck gets done I will be capable of winning races straight out of the box. Its all about the learning curve, and I am trying to get mine to be a verticle as possible. I have also been concentrating on some things outside of desert racing, and as much as I love off road, I really don't see a career made out of driving off road. If I am going to make things work as a a professional race car driver (Which I may not), I have to entertain thoughts of driving other motorsports. I have the utmost respect for guys like Dave Ashley, Dan Smith, Rob Mac, and a lot of the CORR guys whos occupation is driving off road. Unless the political climate in the US changes, it is going to be harder and harder to make that happen.

I am very excited about the Parker race. Best in the US for spectating. I would hope that Parker and BITD could bring in more cars than the Whiplash event brought in last year. I don't remember that number off hand but it was ALOT! If I remember correclty, the Whiplash Parker 400 (2002) was held the SAME weekend as the Laughlin SCORE race (2002) and the numbers were still huge. By bringing in BITD the town of Parker is planning on taking this event to the next level. I hope it is successful, the venue is awesome.

If you were to add the 70+ 1/2 1600 cars that were there last year the numbers would be about the same. Entries do seem a little light for this year considering there isn't another race that weekend (I think).

Thanks for the information on the Class 1 entries. I just checked with BITD and they informed me that there are 15 entries for Class 10 so far.
