I don't know about you guys but I have been feeling more and more uneasy in the Main pit area at MDR races. I am not singeling out MDR, this just happens to be the series I race in (#1025). The reason for my concern is some of the high speed passes that I witnessed not only during the race, but before(Friday) and after also. In the past years it has usually been "wannabees" in there pre runners before and after the race "gettin it awn" like the big dogs. That doesn't really bother me. Though it is dangerous, it seems to regulate itself. Lately, I have been noticing the $50-$100,000 full awn race cars, doing 90mph pases, 30 feet from the pit people. Since I'm relativly new to MDR, I don't know if it is competitors or rich kids with high dollar toys. All I know is it scares me, and since there has been a couple of close calls in the main pit area during races it just seems to me like it is becoming more and more of a problem. Last year I (we) raced a SCORE race in Henderson and there was a speed limit in the pits. Though I didn't really agree with it at the time, I now understand why SCORE does that. My question is why doesn't MDR have a speed limit in the main pit area? What do you guys think. Class 10 newbie
