Pivot box design

I am getting ready to build pivot boxes, trans mount, and radius arms for my Ranger. I will be using 1.25” hiems for the arms. I started to make my mock up of the box and it didn’t look stout enough and now thinking about it, I am not sure the material (1/8” CR) I was planning on using is right. Can anyone help me with dimensions of the box and material I should use? Pictures?

just buy them from a reputable manufacturer...why reinvent the wheel.
autofab
giant
camburg
etc
etc
they have already figured it out a long time ago..
just my .02 cents

yup,
That would be one option, although I like to build and I have more time than $$. The work camburg, giant, etc put out is outstanding but I would like to make my own.

Alski,

I share your outlook here. . .I like to make my own stuff because I enjoy it.

I would think about 3/16" plate for the boxes. . .the Rangers being smaller 1/8" might be OK though. Mix and match, use 3/16" for the main structure and 1/8" for re-inforcement or use the 1/8" plate with 0.090" doubler plates in the high stress areas with the nice cut-out holes that look so great!

Yea, I am thinking that I would rather over build than need to do it again or risk a failure that may damage other parts. I think I will be going with 3/16".
