points ?

i'm a below average mechanic, but having fun. trying to get solid for Vorra 10-31 short course in sacramento.

with the problems i had at hawthorne i now belive it to be a point issue.

Question 1. is it preferance between points or electronic ignition, or is one really better ?

Question 2. i went to examine and change points, under the roter is a metal shield i'm having problems removing, any ideas ?

Question 3. i purchased a new carburator pic 30 and a few differant sizes of main jets. the jet that is currently in it is a 145. when it comes to tuning and dialing it in, wouldnt this depend on elavation ? any recomendations of where and how to start adjustment. thanks for any all help in this.

Out it goes!
It and the points will be gone when you go to the electronic deal.
Fresh coil will help too...
