Howe would be the rack of choice. Saco does not have a steady supply of racks which means slow repairs. also I have bought a pinion gear for a magnum rack and it was visibly crooked. they used to be the rack to get but lately that is not the case. I don't recommend saco.

Agreed they are very nice racks. The initial shock factor of the price steer some away but if you compare to Howe once you add everything up is real close.

For what it's worth I run the Howe Diablo and have been happy with it. The Fortin Beam rack had not proven itself yet when I bought mine.

FYI, I spoke with Jeff at HOWE last week about a power rack. They are in the process of making a unit that is all-in-one, like Fortins, and should be done Jan/Feb.

The problem with Fortins is that the tie-rod are no-where near the same location or style than any other rack. Therefore swapping over isn't do-able without remounting the rack.
