Ranger no START???? Please Help A.S.A.P

OK, my uncles 87 ford ranger 4 banger threw a timing belt. I put a new one on and now it cranks but won't start. It has spark, fuel, and compression. Seeing as how i am more used to chevy's and yota's i don't know sh%t about FORDS. is there something i'm missing.

dont forget we made sure that the timing marks are on.

look the engine over real good for wires knocked off or unhooked. there has been many time when doing a big job that i disconnected something that i did not notice. maybe a cam position sensor.

How did you determine that it has fuel, are the plugs getting wet? What is the compression? And last but not least, do you have spark at the right time? For the latter, hook up a timing light while cranking and see if you can see the timing mark on the crank pulley.

Also if you have an adjustable timing light, you can also check the cam timing quickly with a timing light!
