Rasce Fuel & Water can you seperate if contaminated ?

The recent rains caught me off guard, my fuel drum was sitting on my trailer that wasn’t level. The water collected at the large threaded hole with the cap on reasonably tight .My question is how can I check for water and possibly use this half a drum race fuel. Is there any way to separate the two if that’s the case? Any suggestions or experiences greatly appreciated

Water is heavier than gasoline. You should be able to see where the water and fuel separate in the drum. Either siphon the whole thing out of the drum and separate, or put the siphon in the tank to careflly take out the water only or fuel only.

I'd get a separator like a Mr Funnel or similar product and take a sample from the bottom of the drum and test it. You'll be able to see if any water passed by those threads pretty quickly.
