Well hell, if they run by shortest mileage, I could get there in 0 miles.....I know the right people!

Seriously - this sounds like a total blast. Gotta keep us posted!

Team Durka is all set. Me, Tim F, Dirty V, and Art E. Goon squad will bring the pain to the other teams.
May I suggest the four of you race in a moderately priced car dressed as this guy?

How do the organizers of this event get away with no liability? This would be a great event to have with prerunners and off-road checkpoints but the liability is too great to be the organizer. I talked to the BLM once before about something like this and basically it came down to an organized event described as one that has an organized start, a fee/entry, and a speed competition. So when we go out testing or exploring that is not defined in the above. An off-road "rally" would have a start and a fee/entry.

I like how this scorred with the lowest mileage the winner, this takes out the speeding factor and makes it much more of a navigation rally.

Let me know what you think. I'm all down for planning this out (not really due to liability but want to see what the feedback is). There is a lot of great desert out there for us to explore. My first thought is a Reno to Vegas starting the day after BITD VtoR to get everybody back home.

Straw Man
Ahhhhh, never worry about those who brag so much. It is they who have exhausted their energies by race time.

Watch out for the little guys who speak softly and carry a big stick.

And that's all I have to say on the subject.................................................for now.

A Chevy Lucetti would be good, or even a Dasia Sandero.
Are these cars or are they the names of Mexican Porn Stars?

the guys throwing this are celebrated for organizing the worlds largest game of "squirt gun hitman" so they are obviously professionals. I
bet they have a waiver and thats it. Everyone I have ever talked to that organizes any off road event say the permits are what the hassle is.

Almost There
Sounds like some fun but with everything already planned for this year money and are non existant. Maybe next year.

Kartman- you should have no issues beating the underground. We don't know much but we are headed for a three peat against them at thunderhill. They have raced lemons like 10 times and still can't figure it out. We have raced twice and beat them both times. The tenth level of awesome must me on a 0 to 100 scale.
