The latest issue of Automobile Magazine has an interesting article in it about a totally entertaining, albeit scientifically useless, skid/slide competition held at the Goodyear Proving Grounds. Robby took second only behind a Lotus development engineer. The author seemed surprised that Robby basically just jumped in the car and did his thing-proving what the dez crowd has known for years....that he can basically drive the pants off anything.

Re: RG Race Car Driver

At the BITD Las Vegas 200 in December 2000, Robby hopped into Nick Baldwin's SCORE class1 (BITD class 1400) car without ever being behind the wheel and made up a HUGE amount of time (over an hour) and finished first in class! He was so fast that the helicopter filming the event could not keep up. And the way that he would come into our pit was breath-taking (115 to 0 in a matter of yards! ) directly on center of the astro-turf mat.

POPS- you forgot to mention that particular car is not your average class 1500 car. Only a few can drive that car the way it was designed to be driven (nye frank designed). GAS ON!

That car is now owned by Jimmy Nuckles and is at Spirit getting a prep. Jimmy is a fast and
aggressive driver and just might have some success with the car, especially with Spirit
behind the prep and setup.

Re: RG Race Car Driver

That means the car went from Nick Baldwin-to the Dondell bros-then to McCallum- then back to the Dondells (with a hurt motor), then sold to Jimmy Nuckles? wow it only raced once during all the pimping.

Your right, Jimmy does drive Throttle Down!

Re: RG Race Car Driver

Robby also drove a rally car not so long ago and beat the pants off just about every top Rally driver... then he rolled and wadded it up big time. He's probably one of the fastest drivers in the world and if his stuff stays together he's damn near impossible to beat. Love him or hate, Robby is damn good at what he does behind the wheel.
