I've volunteered several times (and will be this year) at the Mint 400. There may appear to be available parking in the morning. And what might look like a perfectly good parking spot, might be owned by someone who has not agreed to have people parking on their property. As awesome as we think the Mint is, there are some business owners who would beg to differ. I don't agree with them, but I acknowledge they exist. As the day wears on, parking turns into a complete rodeo. You might end up getting parked in and blocked 6 ways from Sunday. The racing crowd has a lot of Type A personalities who "Have a better idea". SO you thought what was good idea in the morning may be overruled by a dozen racers by 10AM. I'd offer to carpool in with you as I'll have a smaller car. But I am uncertain what my exact assignment(s) will be. I'd suggest parking farther away and Ubering in.
