I noticed on the Score website that they do not have the split times on their results page. My girlfriend and I were watching the race at the 115 mile halfway point and logged the times of the top three classes as they passed. I thought some of you would like this information.

I have talk we a few people here in Mexicali, and seems that you can see that the Mexican pilots are ruling on most the classes:
Trophy truck, Gus Vildosola 1st (First O/A by a TT on the SF250) also Ibarra got 3rd place
Class 10 are the Yee Brother's, Ely First class(8th overall) and Lobsam 4rd place
Gus Vildosola Jr. 2nd on Class 12 (15th O/A)
Hector Slazar 2nd on Class 7
Guevara 1st on Class 9 and Fisher 2nd
Flores 1st on Class 11.

Just to name a few, and it seems that Ely Yee nobody going to stop him this season, and its going to the O/A in points for SCORE series.

Not if i can help it. Adam and I are only three points behind, one slip and we are right there.

At baseball games they play organs, in motorsports they donate them.

Yeah sorry to say, but Gus didn't do nearly as well until Rob got on board. I think we all know who the "true driver" is on that team......

4 championships, come on....

See ya in the dirt!

Rob is a true champion, but Gus drove a hell of a race. They had no flat tires and were in the hunt until they past the Herbst 15 miles from the finish for the lead. I know that Gus thanked Rob after the race even if he forgot him at the awards. Gus has not had to get up in front of the crowds for a long time so he may have been a little rusty with his speech, but my hats are off to the whole team. The drivers both ran a winning pace, Willie Valdez jr. did a great prep job, Geiser built a bitchin truck, and with 23 pits there pit crews were unmatched. This is what I call a perfect team effort and I hope our team can put one of these perfect runs together at the next one. Congratulations again Vildosola racing, you guys done good!

In response to:
""Yeah sorry to say, but Gus didn't do nearly as well until Rob got on board. I think we all know who the "true driver" is on that team......""

We had a pit at mile 112 just a few yards before Gustavo Vidosola's Driver-Change Pit, here are our split times:

1: 52 J.C Ibarra 9:12
2: 1 T. Herbst 9:16
3: 99 N. Baldwin 9:17
4: 4 G. Vildosola 9:18
5: 7 S. Steinberger 9:19
6: 6 S. Sourapas 9:22
7: 11 M. Dondel 9:23
8: 44 R. Hoffman 9:36
9: 5 M. Coyne 10:08
10: 5 M. Post 10:20
11: 15 J. Beaver 12:07

As you can see by the times Gustavo was doing great before turning the car over to Rob.
Congratulations to Gustavo and Rob and Willie Jr. for a great race.

Didn't mean any disrespect to Gus, its just that he has never done so well until Rob got on board. Good luck to both of them and what a great start to the season.

See ya in the dirt!

i guess what salvador is trying to say, in his own special way is:

Screw Sadam , its the mexicans you gotta watch out for !!!
First were getting LA back, then off road racing !!!!!
Also salvador forgot to mention Ricardo Malo in class 30.

On a separate note, i was pit 11 for vildosola, being Arturo Honold my friend, weve helped each other when either one is racing for the last 2 years, i came up to help for this race ... Ive been racing for 3 years now, and i was amazed by the profesionalism displayed by the Vildosola team. Excellent pre race meeting, coordination,l pit readiness , catering, preping and copiloting, and with the adittion of Rob to the team, i think Vildosolas race team is gonna be a tough team this year , the organization was just as good as a Nascar team. On the class 12 Arturo Honold just couldnt catch up with Ickler, look like hes the guy to watch out for in class 12 , ickler had a 4 minute lead (6 minutes on corrected time ) after a driver change (mile 120) and it stayed that way til the end of the race, they were both running strong . it just seems incredible you can be chasing another car through washes rocks and sand for 120 miles and not loose or gain ground between them.

For those who didnt get enough Baja racing, remember April 12th is the Code San Felipe race, same course (shorter but 2 laps), 300 bucks entry fee, and SPRING BREAK !!!!

Nice to see some Mexicans on the winning page, the local papers were on an off road frenzy, all sports sections for Mexicali s 2 major news papers had an off road story from saturday till tuesday !!
Guess its good for the sport....

Looking at the times again I noticed that Dale Ebberts was back a little at the halfway point. Ernie Castro Jr. must be one hell of a driver. Why do we not hear more about him?
