Sopwith Motorsports to Broadcast Coverage of the Banning Motorsports Bilek Racing Silver State “300” Presented by BFGoodrich

September 21, 2009 - Sopwith Motorsports, the official media company for Best in the Desert, today confirmed plans to broadcast two days of event coverage via the Web during next week’s Bilek Racing Silver State “300” race (September 25-27). This is the first official live internet telecast for the popular off-road desert race and will be available live and free of charge on the Sopwith Motorsports website (

“Fans will have access to a special, one-of-a-kind broadcast experience that includes behind-the-scenes coverage of race activities live, as they happen,” said Stephen Cox, Sopwith Motorsports CEO and executive producer. “We are enhancing our internet telecast to include expanded start and finish-line coverage, more live interviews with drivers, enhanced sound and interview capabilities, and a new TV-style set and stage for our anchors, all with the race fans in mind.”

The live internet telecast kicks off on Friday with Contingency Day coverage from Mesquite, Nevada hosted by Maria Prekeges (ESPN) and Emily Staats (co-driver of the #42 Mastercraft Trick Truck and 2008 Terrible's 250 champion). Scheduled guests include Rich and Jason Voss (Trick Truck #35), Rick Backus and Dave Mason of Western Motorsports (Pro Truck #1234), and Adem Martin del Campo of PreRunner Maniac Magazine. Live race coverage will include start and finish-line action on Saturday, plus interviews with drivers, fans, and other event participants. Sopwith has secured an improved communications datalink to provide better picture quality.

The free two-day live internet telecast is being sponsored by Banning Motorsports (makers of 1100 and 2000 class chassis), BFGoodrich, Bully Dog Technologies, Torchmate CNC Cutting systems, EVO Positive Energy Drink, PreRunner Maniac Magazine, Mastercraft Racing Seats and Safety Gear, and Drench H20. • Finish-line coverage: 2:00 – 6:30 PM PDT

To view the live internet telecast, visit on September 25th and 26th. No registration is required for viewing, although a high-speed internet connection is recommended and the latest version Adobe Flash Player must be installed with the computer’s browser software. Once connected to the site, an embedded media player will allow fans to watch events live, as they happen (up to a 500 kbps stream). Viewing the internet telecast using a mobile device is not recommended due to technical and software limitations of such devices.

Any fan who is not able to tune in for the live internet telecast will be able to watch archived coverage of race activities on the Sopwith Motorsports website during non-broadcast hours.

The Bilek Racing Silver State “300” race will also be featured on the popular television program, Bully Dog Best in the Desert TV, which returns to the air in December on Fox Sports, the Outdoor Channel, MavTV and the America One Sports Network.
