Read the first paragraph...they were calling for the permanent cancellation of the event.

A journalist saying it might be the last event isnt exactly someone who can decide on its cancellation. 88 was pretty bad, the "stolen" Peugeot story topped up the casualties list. But as it goes, its 2020 and the rally is still on.

And I'm hazarding to guess from the way it was written that the journalist didn't actually attend and cover the event...he just reported based on third party news items and pool photos.
