i loved the Pahrump Terribles Town 250.

I would volunteer to work at the race if it came back, or if some other racing league went there.

The terribles town 250 in pahrump was awesome. Start in the morning, be done in the early afternoon, chasing was awesome, could almost make every pit. I think one of my favorite races, plus it wasn't all tore up like primm and barstow are getting.

Amargosa Toad population, Environmental concerns (dust, pit trash). Not enough Hotel rooms. I hope this race returns to Pahrump someday.

I was up there for the race in '04 at one of the supermarkets in town getting some lunch meat for race day and was talking to the butcher. She had said that when the race came to town everyone who had lived there before the race existed loved have BITD and off-road racing there. But it was the Palm Springs type people (old folks) that were moving there to "get away from it all" and they hated the race and the dust it made. That is one of the reasons they started putting the starting line out in Johnny instead of starting out of the back of Terribles like they had done in the past. The race had been going on way before these people ever thought about moving to Pahrump and they did nothing but complain and raise hell when it came to town.

I loved that race. You could watch the start, leap frog to every other pit, and get to the finish line and see the top 10 overall at every spot you watched at. I wish they would bring it back.

Yep, most of the old retired people hate it.
I have never met one person at my school who didn't like that race.

Does anyone think there is anyway to get the race back though?

Primm is easier from the hotel standpoint, but thats about it. Pahrump is a unique venue for us, we are not there 3 times or more per year. It had been one of the places I really looked forward to going to. Plus you could get fireworks to NOT haul home to CA

I believe that the main reason is the fact that the race sponsor's own ALL the hotels in Primm and don't have to share the hotel revenue with other hotels/casinos. From a business stand point, it is a NO BRAINER for the Herbst's to have the race at Primm.

Personally, I much prefer the Pahrump race for all the reason stated above.

Not anymore, see "Herbst Gaming Bankruptcy." I liked Pahrump because it was nearly a point-to-point and EVERY racer went the distance allowing us all to see how our performance stacked up against the TT's and unlimited cars.
