What do you guys think of the Miller Syncrowave 180 for sale in the classifieds? Would it be a good machine to learn on? Is it heavy duty enough for tube frame fab? How about the price? $1500 sound fair?

I've got the same welder. Have had it for about 2 mos. Great machine, especially for tubing and for the garage. I don't think it's rated for production, but for light fabrication it's great. If it's in good shape and you don't have to drive to far to pick it up $1500 is a good deal. I think they go new for anywhere between 1800-2100. Good Luck

Check out the lincoln squarewave 175. Very simular if not the same as the 180. They go for around 1400 new. I have heard nothing but good things about them. Just another option. MW

Hey, for some great advice on any welders or even welding call Advance Welding in Huntington Beach. Ask for Frank tell him, Art "The TECH DUDE" Savedra told you about him! He's as fair as they get! I wish I had the phone number....ask him about that welder!
