No idea how you attempt this but...trying for a win in the Bikes AND Trucks in the Finke Desert Race? Are the starting times for the two classes so different that you can finish on a bike and then be like helicoptered back to the start to run in a truck?!?!

It is a 2 day event. Maybe Bikes on the first day...
The two day, 480 kilometre race from Alice Springs to Finke and back begins on June 10, with 600 motorcycle and 140 car competitors entering.

While a first-up win in his maiden four wheel event will be a tough ask, Price will take confidence into the event after success at the recent Stadium Truck Super Series.

The first day they go from Alice Springs to Finke. Cars start around 7.30 am. Bikes start around 11.30 am. It is only 250 km or so between start to finish. There is time to catch a helicopter from the finish line back to the start line, jump on a bike. Will be tight though. As he is usually on pole or one of the first bikes away. So hopefully he has no troubles in the truck. Track also has quite high average speeds.

Same story for day two. Except they run from Finke to Alice Springs.

Another bloke Billy Geddes was the first one to attempt and succeed at this a couple of years ago. Place somewhere around 20 in the car division and mid pack in the bikes. Toby has a serious chance of winning the bikes, and is an unknown potential in the Cars. The one thing truly on his side is his bike fitness and track knowledge. The KTM team spend a very long time running up and down the track for weeks prior to the start of the race.

He has won on the bike the last two years, and the truck he is driving has won the race fairly recently as well.

Provisional results are in. Price finished 3rd overall in a geiser trophy truck. (Pretty amazing considering his limited seat time) He also is shown as having come first in the bike section. Making this his 5th win on a bike and first podium in the 4 wheel division.

Official results have put Price as second in the 4 wheel division.

He may be setting up for 4 wheels. Although he has only just started the cross coutry rallies two years ago. (1st Dakar 3rd. 2nd Dakar 1st.) I think it would be intersting to see him at Baja. But without KTM it wont happen.
