How does this compare to SPOT tracker? It will send your location every 5 min and cost 14.99 a month. I know it wont do rm and speed.

SPOT is great at marking a course to show you where you have been. If you are relying on it for Race updates then you will be greatly deceived. There is a cost to send messages via satellite, to keep these costs down spot tracker's will position log (for example) 12 positions in an hour and send out those positions in one message. Of those 12 positions the last position is the only one that is relevant because it is the last position closest to your true location, However, that is not the location that SPOT posts first, instead it will post the first of the 12, followed by the second 5 minutes later, then the third and on and on. At home it looks like it's doing a great job posting your location but in reality by the time that it posts the 12th message it is now an hour behind. Even if this is the way you wanted to do it, you would still need somebody back at home monitoring your location and then trying to get a hold of your Chase team to tell them where you are.... or where
you were an hour ago. With our system every Chase vehicle is getting a message every eight minutes with race mile and speed. We send one message at a time with one location.

How did score get Spot up dates every 2 min ? I know it was not the greatest but every 5-10 min it would update. Does your service also send location to people out of internet or cell location. Like to a sat phone?

It's just in the settings on how many positions to log and how often to display them on line. It is not a true position. Our units were we're always a half an hour to an hour further up the course than where spot had the same vehicle. We had 25 teams running our units at the Baja 500 along with the mandatory spot tracker. All of ours were 1/2 hour to 1 hour further ahead on course than what spot had them at.
