35-45 minutes.... 215 to St. Rose, then either LV Blvd to Knight ranch rd, or take the 15S to Jean and come back up

Depends on where in Henderson, but 35-45 minutes will get you to state line(Primm). The M hotel or even South Point are better options (logistically) as they are off the 15 at the south end of the strip and basically on the outskirts of town and maybe 15 minutes to Jean. The M is much nicer and of course, more expensive. Both have plenty of parking and easy access to freeway with trailers etc. Hell, even the Silverton is just one exit north(Blue Diamond) is a good option, its where the Bass Pro Shops is located. Why there isn't some sort of deal set up with any of these, I'm not sure, but grocery, gas, fast food and shopping are all off Blue Diamond(West) not to mention truck stops and car washes for Diesel rigs and motorhomes and lot lizards at 2am if thats your fancy.

i think most already know that it is not about being the most convenient, rather is is about supporting the town of Henderson, who sponsors this race and graciously shuts down their main street for us and lets us run ragged through their town hall for tech/cont. There is little traffic and it is all fast driving to Jean. The nearest hotel, Jean Gold Strike, is rated 1.5 stars -- on a good day, and food is impossible to find after 9pm. The shocking price of gas at the gas station there is only surpassed by the I-15 Cima Exit station! (I will buy gas from one gallon milk jugs before I buy gas at Cima!)

The city of Henderson should be rewarded with your desert racing love/money for their effort to continue their support desert racing.

The Primm people seem to have lost sight of the value of off-roaders. I laugh still that they would not do a cover band at the side bar because they had enough clients from the concert people bussed in. It's really too bad because Primm could be a cool destination for motorsports but I think their mismanagement of the relationships are nearly as bad as their management of the properties themselves. DUMP is what comes to mind and then beyond that it just trickles down hill. All of course are my personal opinion

I may just drive out to Henderson to hang out for the race even though I am not racing just to support the event and town.

Your opinion is more fact than fiction. The debt holders that took over Primm from the Herbst bankruptcy unfortunately don't value off road as much as the previous owners. You and other off roaders have probably noticed the slow decline of this starting with the short course races and then recent off road events. I believe insuarnce budget kept one major off road race from happening at Primm this year. Greg Primm was a huge motocross fan, hence the town name, he had one of the largests motorcycle collections in the US, then Herbst bought in and built their roots, but still, motorsports at the forefront, now, the place is run by out of state pencil pushers that only care about the numbers. Henderson should indeed be rewarded for their hospitality, but there isn't that much there. The Fiesta and Sunset Station are both Station Resorts properties in Henderson. Green Valley Ranch used to be part of that as well, but that was lost in the Stations bankruptcy to the other half of that partnership(Greenspun) and was the nicest hotel in Henderson. Aside from those 3, the rest are small motel style places unless you go further north to Sams Town and Eastside Cannery which make the drive to the race even longer if it starts in Jean. If you guys are trying to keep your money in the "racing" famliy, the South Point is owned by the Gaughan family and they are into Nascar and support some short course drivers( mostly the Walker Evans Racing guys).

The South Point is the closest (but is in the City of Las Vegas), but as the City of Henderson is a major a sponsor for this race, is pro off-road racing, is behind us and has been for years and years, the teams/crews/spectators are being asked to support City of Henderson properties (not necessarily Station Casinos) when participating in this event. So, the South Point locale wouldn't be supporting the City that supports us :) The M Casino is actually located in the City of Henderson, so that is probably the closest "Henderson" property to the course...

And Cam, thank you for "getting it" xo

What she said -

M Resort -(actually 3 miles closer than the south pointe) it is a great hotel - Highly recommend the blue cheese filet at the steakhouse.....Drive time from Fiesta Hotel is about 45 minutes from start / finish and a couple mins closer for lower Knight Ranch Road pit.

You will not have a choice really of where to stay. M and South Point are sold out. NFR is going on at the same time as the race. Good luck finding rooms.

Green valley ranch, and sunset and fiesta still have plenty of rooms avail according to Hotels.com - Also lots of others avail at the smaller chain motels in the Henderson / Green Valley area.

time to go racing - Sure are a lot of ponts battles that will come down to this weekend for the Championship!

we will be camping in the Toy hauler in the pits so I can Race the ATV race and then have a few beverages and watch the Car and Truck race afterwords and not have to worry about driving back to a hotel after a few Beverages but I will def get my supplies (gas burgers and beverages) in the city of Henderson. We have been racing the last few seasons on an ATV and never get to watch the Car/truck action so its time to catch up on the action
