Ultimate Tube Notcher

Well-Known Member
Yes, a vertical mill, Bridgeport style, is the way to go. I get very accurate, no gap notches on the mill, using holesaws, and the set up is quick and easy. I use a V block tube clamp, which goes in the vise. I angle it with a digital level, and can get repeatable notches that way.

low buck tool co. has a sweet one for straight notches and then the harbor freight one also for odd notches

Whats the RPMs on the ultimate notcher ? I have a small SMITHY combo lathe/Mill and have a 1 1/2" bit . I would like to set it up to notch tubing. Has anybody tried this?
