Some of you that are reading this have already heard about this and probably already made contact with me about this topic. Please still reply to this because it will help me to gather information to make this vision become a reality.

I am writing this e-mail because I am trying to get an off road park opened in San Diego County. I am currently working on the proposal. Your replies are going to be used as a tool to gauge interest and also to help design the park to cater to those of you that will be using it the most.

Please forward this to all of your off-roading friends and post it on any off-roading forums you may be registered with as a new thread. But, before doing that please reply to this e-mail with what you would like to see there.

Also, if you would really like to see this become a reality please state in your reply how you could help make this happen. There are alot of people in our off road community that have traits that I will be seeking to help with building process of this park (ie. plumbers, electricians, and heavy equipment operators).

With all of the land closure issues we have been dealing with this may be the next step to make sure we all have a place to go play.

The park will be located in North County San Diego on tribal owned property near Valley Center. It has an amazing 360 degree view that includes being able to see the ocean from its highest peak and a lake from its lowest. Its high enough for an ocean breeze during the summer and low enough not to freeze in the winter.

Park features:

RV hook-ups w/ picnic tables and fire pits

RV grey water dump site

Campsites will have water, picnic tables, and fire pits (maybe power outlets in the future)

Onsite pressure washer and vacuums

Public lake fishing within 1 mile

Restaurant within 2 miles

Hotels and Casinos within 5 miles

Parts stores within 10 miles (ie. Off Road Warehouse and Napa Auto Parts)

Junk yards within 15 miles

Tow truck company available locally

This will be a 4wd park only (possibly allowing side by side/ UTVs)

Easy medical access

Ability to go off-roading for a full day and still make it home in time for dinner

The costs will be approximately: (These prices are NOT final)

Day trip: $20 per day with a non towed vehicle with 2 occupants
$5 per each additional passenger

Overnight stay: $10 per campsite per night not including vehicle entry fee

Campsites will accomodate 2 vehicles or 1 vehicle/1 trailer, 2 tents, and 4 people

RV will be $15 per site per day with power and water included and 1 tank dump

RV sites will accomodate 1 RV and 1 vehicle (or trailer) and 6 people

We will also offer extended memberships and group/club rates at discount prices

During events rates may change due to event contracts

Having an off road park in San Diego County will also bring other attractions. For example, rock crawling events hosted by WEROCK or rock racing events from XRRA. Events like that happening here will help our industry expand which will benefit us even more.

Your help and participation will be greatly appreciated.

For any questions, feel free to PM me and they will be directed to the person in charge.
The location of this place will be announced soon.

If you want to ask questions and get responses sooner. The person in charge may be contacted at shiloh4s.d.ohvpark@gmail.com Shiloh is his name and he is taking this whole thing very serious. A location has been found and he is in the process of preparing for his presentation to the local city council of his location. The area is in San Diego, and when he can, he will release the official location. All we ask for is everyone's support and thoughts on how to make this whole thing work in the end.

This would be AWESOME!! I've spoken with friends about an off road park in the past and I know MANY people that don't have the time to go out to the desert because they only have one day off but still want to get some off roading in!!! Hungry Valley OHV is a fun place and I think if there were a park like that down here with a diverse amount of trails for both bikes and vehicles it would be VERY popular!! Your prices are reasonable so I think it will be a hit!! I can help out with any type of office/accounting help that you might need.

This sounds awesome! Being that the off-raod community is facing so many land closures (with more to come), the effort to ensure open areas to ride/drive is greatly appreciated. For the most part, true off-roaders are respectful of lands and each other. I hope there is success for you with this effort. What companies are supporting this?
A couple things off the top of my head that may catch the city councils interest...Dust control and will there be any type of security or a way to control nonsense/handle emergencies in a timely fashion? The city council will want to know if the police/emergency response crews will have to handle situations. You may want to put some kind of security in place so the city council does not feel like the city services may be "bogged down" by the off-road park.
Hope this made sense and it is just a thought.

Shiloh is an employee from ORW and he is running this on his own. Our company is supporting him in what ways we can. I am not sure if he really has any major companies supporting him at this time. We as ORW are doing what we can. But at this time, its solely up to Shiloh taking his time and preparing his powerpoint presentation and researching everything to the best he can. He is 110% dedicated to this and wont stop till its done. I believe he knows of the security issues already. But please email him at shiloh4s.d.ohvpark@gmail.com and give him all the advice you can. Anything that you think can make this work.

would the park have a dedicated area for racers to test? we sure have got to go a long way to test our set-ups. maybe something that skirts part of the park border. regardless, yours is an idea lots of folks have thought alot of over time and kudos go out for working to make it really happen. no one ever thought the powers that be would put a state of the art municipal skate park on valuable real estate in ocean beach for folks to enjoy until someone started the ball rolling. nice going orw.

Well I tried to rep you for this idea... but I have to spread the love first... That really would be awesome to have testing around the outskirts of the OHV!! It would be an environmentally freindly approach... imagine all the fuel and time racers would save if they could test locally!! :D

To be honest with you, last time i spoke to Shiloh, it was from my understanding that this is ideally something towards 4WD vehicles for mostly trails and rock crawling. However, I have seen some photos of the desired land for this location, and if he is creative enough, i am sure there may be a possibility of making a designated area for say the likes of 1600 Cars and smaller.

But anything is possible and this is just a stepping stone for bigger things to come in the future, if we can get this to happen, then there are only greater things that may come. And if this is successful, maybe others with their ideas can become successful as well helping the Off Road Community to the fullest.
