This isn't as off-rad related as I would like it to be but here it goes: I am thinkig about building a website for our "club", the Hemet Off-Road Enthusiasts, or H.O.R.E. Today I made an attempt at starting a geocities website. Even though it is free I already don't like it. It looks way too hoakie (sp?) and everything. Plus I have a ton of pictures and some videos (maybe) to put on it and I don't know if it will handle it. If I had an actual site made, what would I expect to pay for server charges? I can't afford to pay alot, but I have tons of pictures I want to put on, will that cost alot more? Any input on this would be great. I know there is a bunch of people here that run websites, what do you guys pay for your server? Thanks in advance.

Oh yeah, here is my geocities site if anyone wants to look at it (yeah right!).

www.geocitiescom/horeforlife

Can someone make it clicky?

I use www/powweb.com it is really cheap and has lots of space and bandwidth. I paid 100 for the year with a name too. It gives 200 megs, 220 emails, 2 gigs transfer and a lot of other stuff too. I recommend it to everybody. If you want more info let me know...and if you do end up using it say I referred you by filling in the blank with www.animalhousedesigns.net

you dont have to use geocities web editor if you dont want to. buy or get a web page creator/editor program and learn to use it. if you want to go official, i sugest 1dollarhosting.com for the host and register.com to register the site name to start off with. neither are too costly, but geocities is free.

geocities is pretty cool... I made a website for my band on there, it's nothing too special, but it gets the job done!
www.bravenet.com for some free goodies for your site

There are lots of web hosting sites out there. Web 1000 or 50megs.com. Dreamweaver is a good tool to use and has a built in FTP to upload yor pages. Great program and I reccomend it. Also Front Page is a fine program and pretty simple. I would suggest to get a little bit familiar with HTML.
