"Everything this guys says is true. Even though he says things in a funny way, he is correct, and the results are terrifying. I believe this is going to happen. It actually makes me have a sick and scared feeling in my stomach!


It is what I have been watching and thinking as well. It's actually obvious. The real estate is going to crash for another 2 years plus. The currency crash will happen, and would have started already, were it not for more recession/depression forestalling it.


I can buy gold or oil or other currencies to protect myself financially. My loans on the buildings I own are fixed rate, so inflation can not get me on them. My problem will be figuring out when to fully get out of dollars, since it could be months or 2 years before the dollar collapses. But I can do that earlier than optimal. What scares me is: (1) So many of my friends and family are going to get slaughtered financially and their quality of life is going to be destroyed. (2) I am not sure how to protect myself and family from the violence that will certainly ensue when all of Amercians have a hard and permanent fall, coupled with energy and food shortages. Where do I go with my family? China? Japan? What countries have (i) resources, (ii) people that produce more than they consume, (iii) savings instead of debt, (iv) stable and educated people & govt?


I am not trying to be phantasmagorical. This is going to happen and I need to now work on getting the ability to go to another country longer term. The USA govt will try to restrict gold, foreign currencies, oil, movement, etc. of it;s citizens. Marshal law will be used off an on ...


This may start within 6 months, but definitely within 2 years. It will last a long time."

I'm armed to the teeth, have a bad ass bunker in the works, and collecting trade bait... Gold and Cash will be worthless, best to have stock piles of supplies you can trade for stuff you need. Things like smokes, booze, ammo, food and etc.

You think it's going to be bad from financial undertow... Let's have a 7.0 quake on top of that.... That is going to make Katrina look like a line at the tilt-o-whirl. At least they had supply roads in and out of town.

You sound like my dear departed father, Fly. I'll ask you the same question I asked him, maybe you'll answer.

So how do we maintain a 24/7 vigil over our homes and "stash"?

I agree with Schiff. Allthough I believe that a true conservative is on the horizon. The American people are much smarter than the Government gives us credit for. I said in a previous post that this surge into Socialism will bring about "real change" and a far right winger that will gain popularity. If their is one thing that Barrack Obama should be given credit for it is his comments on how Americans will need to do get accustommed to a lower standard of living. Where he is wrong is that he believes that it is because of our impact on the enviroment coupled with his ties to the far left enviro's... I contend that it will be the further decline in the economy. At some point the platform of Ron Paul will be VERY attractive to most Americans. I love his conservative approach, but he lacks foriegn policy, not that Obama idea of pasification and appology will have any other result.

How many of our previous Presidents were aces on foreign policy? I'm curious.

I've been a fan of Ron Paul for the last 4 or so years. His taxation policy has been a hit for me since day one; consumption or flat tax would solve a lot of problems.

Where will I hide? Not a clue. When push comes to shove, the strong will survive.

who cares what happens, the f#ck up machine is on its course so just ride it and have fun. stop the greed and the protect mine stuff. this has been in play since the 40's and allot of the world leaders and every us president has contribute to it.

who going to protect your friends stuff when they are protecting yours?

So should we all choose 1 place to go so we can unite to keep off roading/racing? Ever heard the term "neutral like Switzerland"? I think you'll know where to find me....I am open to suggestions though. I completely agree that this country has not seen the worst of it yet. If you can find decent ammo still available, let me know. The shelves are empty around here.....

always plan for a worse case scenario. i've lived off the grid in remote areas down in mexico and had to haul water and everything else in. it's about making adjustments in the way you generally function. but it still comes down to taking care of numero uno. if ramsey is concerned that in the not to distant future his money won't be any good then spend it now on s--t he knows he can't do without later. it's still gonna come down to having stuff. and/or an ability to provide services or a commodity like fly said. if a person can provide something people want , need or think they need, be it legal or otherwise, then these are the folks who will keep their heads above the water line. quick to fall by the wayside will be all the helpless phony oprah watching chocolate eating desperate house wife types that only leave the house to shop and their worthless clone yes men panty waste husbands that tolerate that kind of crap just so they won't have listen to the bitching and whining about almost everything that happens. the folks who make it will be cut of the same cloth of the people that pioneered this country in it's infancy. you just might have to be a scrapper. if your one of the people that other people say doesn't have sense enough to come in out of the rain. your'e prolly in for a bad go round. most of the folks on rdc have the right kind of mindset to make it because it's hard to make us throw in the towel and quit. it's not in our nature.

That's what my dad said it took to survive the Bataan Death March and years in Japanese prison camps doing slave labor.

But he also had an end game in mind: The US WOULD prevail, he WAS going home to his wife and family, and he KEPT his spirits up.

The latter was buoyed by successful acts of sabotage.

In his optimism, he made lists of what he was going to do to his car when he got back.

The title of this thread is.... "Where to Hide" I think it should be "How not to hide". Remember in the midevil times how outside of the castle there would be bodies of the enemy skewered on sticks? Yeah, that would let anyone who thought they were a bad ass know their fate... I will do the same... But they will probally be skewered on some 20' sticks of 2" 4130....LOL
