URGENT! Your action needed!

A month ago we urged action opposing California Senate Bill 767, which would have helped the state sell off a large part of the Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area. Since then, through some sneaky, underhanded dealings, the same bill has been changed to AB1086 and has reached the governor’s desk. We are now urging all of you to help us by calling, e-mailing or both, the governor’s office and asking the governor to veto bill AB1086. I called last week and spoke to a staff member who was nice and quickly took my request. Since they didn’t take any info, I also emailed the same message. We think the governor will veto if we make enough noise, so please call and email him right away.

Lost Lizard Fun Run
Our Lost Lizard Fun Run on November 9 is fast approaching and you can save money by pre-entering on our website at https://sdorc.org/fun-run-2019. The event is our big fundraiser and a lot of fun, so plan on making it out. The Early Bird pre-registration discount ends September 30, so please go over and sign up. Our thanks to Audrey and the rest of the crew for putting together what is sure to be a great event.

Don’t forget our next membership meeting on Tuesday, October 1, at Ranch House Restaurant. We will be talking about topics of interest to local off-roaders including trail work in Corral Canyon and a cleanup in Painted Gorge. The meeting begins at 7:00 pm. Everyone is welcome!
We encourage you to support the restaurant. Come early for dinner, bench racing and socializing. For directions go to sdorc.org/meetings. Hope to see you there!
