#1802 Conquers The Baja 1000 Their Own Way!

If you have not heard about the #1802 story from this years Baja 1000 I am sure it won’t be long until you do. Basically 1802 went from only a few people knowing of them racing this year to a couple thousand knowing of them racing, all because they took a wrong turn. They missed the turnoff in the Borrego area to head down south and do the San Felipe loop. After RDC followers caught their mistake a phone call was made to Weatherman to see if he could get a hold of them and let them know of their mistake and how to correct it. He did get a hold of them and they were able to get back and do the San Felipe loop. Even after the finish had closed on the time limit the team said screw time limits we are finish this race. The rest is history…..

Yes a great story, but has anyone taken a few minutes to sit down and consider that there may be more then just one man behind this story? There's countless hours of prep, social lives put aside and planning. He may think he has a " team " but after reading articles on line I wouldn't be surprised if he s alone.

Well fish, I'm not picking on this site or any other, but I hate to break it to you, we were there, we know exactly what happened and how. We were there when emotions ran high and low both for Kane and the team, the interview you see here was taped Monday afternoon, after the 1802 sensation had taken off. All I can say is that not everything you see or read is true. After all if you race, one racer to another have you every been rewarded for taking a wrong turn??

Very refreshing to see determination and comrodery overcome early challenges that would have many teams tuck tail and head for home, simply becouse they wouldnt be able to win after this type of error. It shows charachter to finnish what you start. To our fellow desert racers from up north.Bravo!

"If you have not heard about the #1802 story from this years Baja 1000 I am sure it won’t be long until you do. "

Wow the author must be some kind of a psychic. How did he know that I was about to hear this story? Oh wait, it was because he was about to tell me about it. That's a pretty good trick, I may try that sometime. The next thing you read will be complete crap.

Complete crap!

Gotcha! LOL

Seriously, Thanks for the Baja version of the Little Train That Could story. Glad they made it.
