The BITD season opens with a bang, or maybe better described as a crash!
A 100 plus trucks and buggies lined up to qualify for starting positions for this weekends Parker 425. The 5mile course laid out was fast, previous rains, cool temps and a slight breeze kept the dust to a minimum, perfect for spectating.
But not all was perfect starting with the crash from the #3 truck of Andrew Whitehead of the YouTheory race team. Andrew and his navigator Drew Becerra took a wild ride when they crashed their truck at speed. Both driver and navigator walked away from the accident, a testament to the safety built into these amazing vehicles.
Top qualifier in Trick Truck was Kevin Thompson edging out Jason Voss by four tenths of a second with a time of 06:14.447 over the 5mi course.
Followed closely by Justin Lofton, Robby Gordon and Robert Johnston.
Joe David in class 1500
Kyle Jergensen would take the top spot in the 6100 trucks with 3 seconds over the field.
Class 1000 would be Conner McMullen
Jeff Proctor would take the pole in Class 7200
Stay tuned for our coverage of the 2020 BITD Parker 425.
