Out to Lucerne Valley for the third MORE race of the season. With temps in the triple digits it was going to be a grueling day in the desert.
Morning heat kicked off at 8 am with the 1600 class cars heading the pack. Leading early and holding it to the finish was 1612 of Abraham Gutierrez setting fastest lap in class and winning with a time of 4:18:33.
In the 5/1600 class, it was Raul Solano in car 554 coming away with the win in 3:54:50 and setting the fastest lap in class as well.
Wesley Welch in car 982 came away with the fastest lap for every lap of the race in class 9 and finished with a time of 4:16:51.
A familiar face in class 11 has returned to the top spot yet again. Blake Wilkey in car 1157 won among 11 other cars in class with a time of 3:33:49.
As the sun was peaking and the temps were spiking, the Afternoon heat were staging and getting ready to do battle.
Eric Hardin in truck 79 ran away with the win. From start to finish he seemed to be untouchable all day winning with a time of 4:12:23 well over an hour faster than the rest of the cars in class.
Johnny McCall in car 177 set down the fastest time every lap around and won with a time of 4:24:54.
With a time of 4:33:45, Travis Chase in truck 6195 ran away with the win in the 6100 class winning by over 30 minutes.
For the Perfect 10 Weddle Industries shootout it was a battle to the finish! The 1087 of Ivan Tagle that came away with the win in 4:40:23 just beating out Ezra Ebberts in car 1099 with a time of 4:41:27. And rounding out the top 3 was the 1055 car of Tom Coons. after falling back early on, Bryce Farrar took the car and made up ground on the leaders landing them the last spot on the podium with a time of 4:45:44.
In class 5U, it was Erik Irvine in car 522 winning by over 20 minutes with a time of 4:41:36 while his teammate Ben Swift secured the 3rd place spot sandwiching Justin Smith in 2nd place.
The Next race on the MORE racing schedule is the GG Lighting Freedom Cup at Glen Helen Raceway on July 31st.
