When you have a fast race course qualifying up front is very important. The BITD Silver State 300 is notoriously a very quick course so starting up front in a big advantage (unless you’re Kyle Jergensen from a few years ago).
BITD laid out a 3.5 mile course out in Primm Valley that was also very fast with some tight turns and a few jumps mixed in.
In the Trick Truck class BJ Baldwin laid down the fastest time of the day running a 3 Minute and 18 Second heater which was 6 seconds faster then Robert Johnston in the Chatanoooooooga Whiskey truck. Right behind him was Kyle Jergensen who was piloting the Brethel AWD truck just two hundredths of a second behind Johnston.
For this race two UTV’s decided to throw their hat into the mix of the Unlimited Car class. Mitch Guthrie Jr. racing his Polaris Pro R and Bruce Binnquist racing his full tube chassis Geiser Can-Am are looking to see where they stack up in the overall. Binnquist was only 8 seconds behind BJ giving him the 4th overall starting position, and Guthrie Jr. will start 7th off the line.
In the 6100 class Justin “Bean” Smith put down the fastest lap in class with a time of 3 Minutes and 28 seconds just edging out Connor McMullen by a little over a second. Bear Nunley would round out the top 3.
The Class 1000 cars also qualified first Preston Brigman starting first on Saturday followed by Micheal Taylor and Peter Hajas.
