You never know what is going to happen when racing in Mexico at a Baja 1000. You could break a part, get a flat, get lost or even end up chest deep in water while still in your race car. Watch Dan’s story about parking his dad’s race car in a lake.
I had to get in that car after Dan became a U Boat Commander. The following hours were very uncomfortable as my lower body was soaked. I ended up not feeling well and got out of the car after 250 miles and Gary Arnold got in and the team got a second. Finally ended up bringing a transmission to Luke 2/1600 and helped them install it and I believe Luke went on to win the class championship that year. Last time I drove any race vehicle in Mexico. Thanks McMillin family.
