Beat the Baja is a documentary about the 1986 SCORE Baja 1000 and sponsored by McMillin Development Inc. Some footage in the film is also from the 1986 Budweiser 250 in Barstow.
Right after setting up this post I found this old thread about this documentary that has some vintage manufacturer ads posted in it.
A great documentary from 1987 surrounding the Baja 1000. I found this in my local video store in 1987 and watched it over and over again. If you've never seen it you're in for a real treat! Some of the footage in this film is also from the 1986 Budweiser 250 in Barstow. I believe SCORE/HDRA held...
I was still up for discussion in 1986
Wow those were fun times. At RM 800 the motorcycle rider from Japan that was soloing the race came into our pit and and fell over and passed out. We fed him and got him some coffee and water and worked on his bike and got him back on the road. As for us Dave Richardson made one of his very rare mistakes and got stuck in the tide pools behind Ivan and Mark and we lost 12 hours before he was able to get out and get to the finish line. Back then their wasn't any M Sats , Sat Radios, GPS, or trackers you were really on your own. Mark and the Mcmillins were tough to beat in baja.
