After a gruesome battle lasting eighteen hours, BJ Baldwin has won the 2013 Baja 1000 for the second consecutive year. As he did in last years peninsula run, BJ iron manned the exhausting 883 mile trek, starting the race in sixth position. The 2013 Baja 1000 course took many prisoners throughout the day but “Ballistic” BJ Baldwin was able to withstand most everything Baja California Norte had to offer and is now the 2013 Baja 1000 Champion. With his win today, BJ wrapped up the 2013 SCORE season points race for his sixth off-road racing championship.
With about 40 miles left in the race, BJ was a minute ahead of Rob MacCachren. As the massive mob of media and spectators awaited the two trucks at the finish line. The roar of the first trophy truck coming in to town was enough to get the crowd, well, ballistic and sure enough, it was BJ Baldwin first across the line.
