Brandon Arthur Making Moves In Round 2 Of The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series

Chandler, AZ

Professional off-road racer, Brandon Arthur, is fired up and making moves in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS). Coming out to Chandler, Arizona for Round 2 and the “Duel in the Desert” at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park, had Arthur in the driver seat of the #6 MAVTVStronghold MotorsportsPro Traffic ServicesToyo Tires Ford Pro 2 Truck, and also racing the #906 WildCat XX Production 1000 UTV. Brandon’s busy weekend paid off with a 5th place finish in the Pro 2, and a 4th place finish in the UTV.

“We had a great race in Arizona for Round 2,” declared Arthur. “This weekend I came away with two Top 5 finishes so not bad at all. I am still trying to figure out my race cars, and we are learning more every time out on the track. We are now going back with some homework notes to sort out and get everything dialed in for Estero Beach in a few weeks.”

When Arthur arrived and unloaded at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park, he unloaded a rocket ship with the quickest lap time of 43.299 Seconds during Practice Session 1 with his WildCat XX. Brandon was even faster during Practice Session 2 with his fastest lap turned at 42.088 shaving more than a full second off. In the Pro 2 division, Arthur was recording mid pack lap times and turned up the heat for the following practice. 39.595 seconds was good enough for 4th quickest of the group and only .995 seconds off the fast lap time.

“The Pro 2 is a little bit of struggle trying to determine what the ideal truck set up will be for the track conditions,” explained Brandon. “We qualified 7th. The competition has been tough, and I will have to drive aggressive if we want to move up. With that said, I am feeling good out here in Arizona, and cannot wait for the races. It is going to be action packed!”

The Production 1000 UTV event would be Arthur’s first race on the schedule. Brandon started the #906 WildCat XX UTV back in 7th place because of a 4WD failure during qualifying. Despite being three rows deep, Arthur found a groove. On Lap 3, Brandon began to make his move to the front. On Lap 5, the Wildcat raced up three positions and by Lap 9 had moved into 4th place. Arthur would secure the spot for the next four laps and hang on for a 4th place finish and his second Top 5 of the season. Brandon is now 4th in points.

The main event for the weekend was the Pro 2 race, and Brandon Arthur in a field of 14 competitors fired up the crowd for the big showdown. The MAVTV Truck started back in 9th place and was able to move up into the 8th position on the first lap. Brandon held this spot waiting for a clean opportunity to make even more moves. On Lap 10, that moment came with Arthur jumping up to 6th and kept it clean for the finish.

“I went into the race with our main goal to keep it clean and get it to the finish better than where we started,” Brandon stated. “I stayed out of trouble and had a clean race. With a couple laps to go, the alternator belt let go, but I was able to finish without getting passed. We ended up in 5th after some penalties were applied at the end of the race. I lost the 4WD qualifying in the WildCat XX, so that put us way back to start the Production 1000 UTV race in 8th place. Had a good run in the race and battled our way up to a 4th place finish. I’m confident I could have won with a few more laps. Overall, we had a good weekend in Arizona.”
