Las Vegas, NV
There will be plenty of bright lights ahead for Jay Reichert and Charles Dorrance as they display their “War Machine” Trophy Truck in Las Vegas, Nevada at the SEMA Show and then head south to Mexico for the 47th Tecate SCORE Baja 1000. The annual show put on by the Specialty Equipment Market Association, commonly referred to as SEMA, attracts tens of thousands of the automotive aftermarkets brightest
SEMA showcases newly introduced parts, tools and components, conducts educational seminars and provides incredible networking opportunities for manufacturers, racers and the media. Reichert and Charles will be signing the latest edition of their War Machine poster series in the SCORE Baja 1000 Experience booth on Tuesday. Reichert will be at sponsors’ booths all week including Rigid Industries, Alcon, Spal Fans, ReplayXD and Aurora Bearings. The War Machine will be on display except during qualifying for the Baja 1000 which will be held on a specially constructed 3.6 mile course at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Tuesday night Nov. 4th starting at 7pm.
After the bright lights of Las Vegas, the War Machine will be bathed in the bright lights provided by Rigid Industries. The Texas based R&D Motorsports team will be running special Rigid Industries amber colored LED lighting during the Baja 1000.
This year’s race traverses a mind-boggling 1,288 miles from Ensenada, Mexico all the way down the Baja California Peninsula to La Paz. Charles will qualify the War Machine in Vegas and take the start at the race. He will complete his section and then hand the truck over to Reichert at an undisclosed spot along the course.
Besides the special Rigid Industries amber lighting, that reduces eye strain, the War Machine will be taking advantage of the highest quality components and support from BFGoodrich Tires, FOX, ReplayXD, Impact, Method Race Wheels, Alcon Brakes, Spal Fans, Micro Armor, Aurora Bearing, Thermo Tech, R2C Filters, C&R Radiators, and Brown & Miller Racing Solutions during their epic peninsula run.
“We’ve tested the amber lighting and are really impressed with how far we can see with them; there’s no chance we will outrun these lights,” said Reichert, “We will experience several different lighting conditions in Baja; dusk, darkness, blinding dust; we may even get some fog along the coast. The Rigid Industries amber lighting will give us an edge on the competition. We are looking forward to a strong run at the 1000.”
If you are at SEMA stop by and say hello to Charles and Reichert and get a signed poster of the War Machine. It all begins November 4th at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. If you can’t make it to Vegas the R&D Motorsports team will see you in Ensenada, BC Mexico November 11-15.
