ADDITIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

  • South Racing Can-Am Team’s Fedor Vorobyev Secures 2019 FIA T3 Trophy
  • Corry Weller Wins LOORRS Title with Can-Am Maverick X3 Vehicle

VALCOURT, QUEBEC, CANADA, Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2019 – Russian Fedor Vorobeyev
and American Corry Weller each secured an off-road racing championship in the Can-Am
Maverick X3 side-by-side vehicle this past weekend, adding to more titles to the brand’s
successful 2019 season.
“We won two more global championships with the Can-Am Maverick X3 in two totally
different disciplines, which again speaks to the Maverick X3 side-by-side vehicle’s no-
compromise and versatile design,” said Jeff Leclerc, manager Can-Am racing department.
“The vehicle gives all racers the potential to compete at every event they enter, but in the
hands of talented pilots like Mr. Vorobeyev and Mrs. Weller is where you one can really see
the advantages of its precision engineering and its race-winning design.”

Vorobeyev Puts the ‘V’ in Victorious
South Racing Can-Am Team’s Fedor Vorobyev and co-driver Kirill Shubin won Portugal’s
Baja Portalegre 500 to capture the 2019 FIA T3 Trophy Championship title. The Russian
tandem won every stage this past weekend in their Zavidovo Racing Team Can-Am to reach
the finish 23:48.3 ahead of his nearest rival. The win pushed the team’s season points total
to 157, which was 47 points ahead of the runner-up.
“This is a great way for the team to end the season with Fedor and Kirill wrapping up the
2019 FIA T3 Baja World Cup,” said a delighted South Racing Can-Am Team’s Scott
Abraham. “It has been a great year for Can-Am and the South Racing team, again
dominating the event with a 1-2 finish and showing that the Can-Am is the market-leading
product in T3 motor sport. A big thanks to all the team for their hard work and dedication.”
The Portuguese duo of Gualter Barros and Gonçalo Maghalães took second place in their
South Racing-prepped Maverick X3, joining Vorobyev as the only two teams to complete the
course under the seven-hour mark.

Weller Repeats as LOORRS Champion
Corry Weller qualified in the top three Friday to set herself up for a big weekend. The
reigning champion earned a podium finish Saturday and then the victory on Sunday at Wild
Horse Pass Motorsports Park in her home state of Arizona to earn back-to-back Lucas Oil
Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) Production UTV Turbo class championships.

“We did it. We won the LOORRS Prod Turbo UTV Championship again and defended that
No. 1 plate. We knew going into this year that defending our championship would be a
challenge. Our class is growing in numbers and the level of competition is growing with it,”
said Weller, who is also a contender to win the 2019 Lucas Oil Regional AZ Series title. “A
huge thanks to Can-Am Off-Road for all of their support over the last two years to help make
these championships possible. The Maverick X3 is such a great platform and BRP is such a
great company that loves the sport.”
