The final round of racing is now upon us for the Lucas Oil Offroad Racing Series. Lake Elsinore will serve as the home for championships to be settled and challenge cup bragging rights earned. Today started out cold and overcast but the sun broke through just in time for the first practice session. With no qualifying until tomorrow morning, today would let the racers see the track and try out different setups over two pracitce sessions.
Since Carl Renezeder already secured his Pro 4 championship, tomorrows racing serves only to set the tone for the big race on sunday. Kyle Leduc would be fastest of the day with a fast lap of 48.848. Fastest Pro 2 was Bryce Menzies who pulled a 49.119, only 2/100’s of a second behind Leduc, which will make the start of the Challenge Cup Sunday very interesting. With such close lap times they Pro 4’s should start fairly close to the Pro 2’s.
Tomorrow brings qualifying in the morning and Round 15 of racing in the afternoon. Will Brian Deegan win another Prolite championship? Will Rob Mac take the Pro 2 championship or will Renezeder or Deegan overtake him in the final round and win? Does Steve Greinke keep his #1 plate in Pro Buggy?
All questions will be answered in less then 24 hours!
