55 miles of California’s finest brought in the Vegas boys from SNORE for the Midnight Special just outside Ridgecrest Ca and Todd Wyllie brought home the over all win in 4:38:09 in his class 8 truck “Frankenstein” over two of the ever popular Geiser trophy trucks. Not bad for an old class 8 that’s been through its paces.

“The race went great it was rough but our suspension soaked it up we were 5th off the line.” Said Wyllie “…on the third lap we were the first vehicle on the road. At pit B we had to stop for a flat but my pit guys who were teamed up with GnR kept me in the lead but just before pit D we noticed the right rear tire going down with no one at pit D, we contacted GnR’s pit and we made it to them and they changed the tire for us. We were then second on the road with no spare tires so we decided to stop at the main pit to get a spare for the last lap. When we left, my crew told me that we were three minutes behind the Householder truck who had started 40 seconds behind us. We managed to pass him about 35 miles into the final lap and finished 2 minutes ahead of him for the overall victory. Thanks to my pit crew and a special thanks to the GnR pit crew we could not have done it without them.”

The Midnight Special is also Round 4 of the Trophy Lite series, qualifying first and also taking his first win ever was Jim Riley. “ SNORE put together a great course for my first win in off-road racing and I’m thrilled to be partnered with Team Agave led by Rick L Johnson, driving partner Luis Chamberland and prep by Shrek.”

On his first run in his new Trophy Lite was RDC’s own Pat Dailey – “I am so excited to podium our first time out on such a challenging and technical course. Fish drove a great first two laps and handed me the truck in perfect condition. I was able to get comfortable very quickly and we caught Stave Hengeveld for 3rd place halfway through the 3rd lap and we were able to hang on and bring home the 3rd place finish behind Louis Chamberland and the Messer family. I want to personally thank Greg Foutz, the entire Trophylite crew, Louis Chamberland, Messer family, the Dailey Motorsports Orange Army, Desert Assassins, Karl Scanlan, and all the other Trophylite teams that were pitching in parts to get us to the starting line. I am so excited to be a part of the Trophylite family and look forward to racing with all of them in the future. And of course we couldn’t do this without the support of my wife Angie and all our great sponsors.”
