Glen Helen And The Drivers Both Bring The Heat In LOORRS Round 9

With temperatures reaching close to 110 during the day, drivers knew that the heat would play a factor this weekend. When you are going 110% where inside your truck it can get as hot as 125 degrees, dehydration, exhaustion and fatigue would take its toll. For Round 9 of the Lucas Oil Offroad Racing Series out in Glen Helen last night, the fans weren’t scared of the heat as the stands were packed to watch their favorite short course drivers do battle in the punishing environment.

On a special side note Lucas Oil with the city of San Bernardino honored the 14 people who lost their lives in the attack last December by donating $5,000 to the GoFundMe account setup by the Mayor, and 14 drivers had stickers on their car each remembering one of the 14 victims. Also during the opening ceremonies there were both Police and Firefighters who were some of the first responders on the scene that day. Visit if you’d like to make a donation, which go to the families of the victims of the tragic event.

Kyle Leduc seems to be back to his winning ways winning his third race in the last four, fan favorite Jeremy “Twitch” Sternberg got on the podium in Prolite, and Rob MacCachren drove like a wizard to take home the win in Pro 2. Darren Hardesty Jr. won his second Pro Buggy race of his career and Trey Gibbs won wire to wire in Mod Kart.
