Capitalizing on an incredibly productive 2017 race season, Green Army Motorsports has started 2018 with back to back victories this year. “The way we started 2018 so far really feels like it’s a continuation of the last half of 2017. That’s really when this positive momentum started and I am excited to see where our new partnerships and new car take us this year” said Justin Davis.
Green Army Motorsports has a long history of being a force to be reckoned with in any class they show up to race. 2017 was no exception as brothers Justin and Jeremy raced their Class 10 and 12 cars respectively both north and south of the border. Consistent podium finishes led to a new partnership with Tri-Ace Tires halfway through the year. “I couldn’t be more excited to be working with the Tri-Ace Racing team. They bring a great product to our sport, but more importantly, they bring the support for our community that is so important. Justin & Jeremy have really been happy with the tires and the results so far in our short time with Tri-Ace speak for themselves” said Kevin Davis, Green Army Team Owner.
As things came together to close out 2017, Justin had secured multiple podium finishes in Baja in the SCORE-International Race Series and consistently was a top finisher in the SNORE Off-Road Racing series north of the border. Justin finished the year as Class 10 Champion and 3rd in the overall points standings and Jeremy finished 2nd in the Class 12 points championship. On top of their great finishes, Justin was also awarded the 2017 SNORE Driver of the Year Award. “We had another great year, but I know what we do is a team effort. Showing up with cars ready to win happen because of our incredible crew chief Josh O’Neal. It isn’t by accident that he won SNORE Mechanic of the Year this year. He definitely earned it and it’s so much working with someone who is at the top of their game like he is” Justin said. The Green Army Racing Crew also took home honors for 2017 SNORE Racing Pit Crew of the Year.
Green Army Motorsports has an office full of trophies at the shop that reminds them that their years of success have happened because they are constantly seeking to push themselves and improve on results. During the off-season, the team made two major shifts to move into 2018. Jeremy will continue racing the Class 12 car in select races, but will also be getting some seat time in Class 10 while waiting for his new Green Army, Baja Designs Sponsored UTV to be completed.
Justin is moving back into familiar territory to compete in Class 1/Unlimited Buggy. “The Jimco Class 1 we acquired in the off-season has a long history of winning and I plan on continuing that tradition in that car under the Green Army flag this year” Justin said. It didn’t take long for those words to be backed up with results as Justin put the Green Army #185 on top of the box the first two races they entered in, overalling both the MORE SlashX Duel in the Desert in Barstow and the SNORE Battle at Primm in Primm, NV. “We are excited to be running the car the entire SCORE series and looking forward to giving Tri-Ace their first run at an off-road championship. I am really excited to have Baja Designs back on board as a racing partner this year to go along with all our other great sponsors. See you all in Mexico!”
The next race for the Green Army Motorsports Class 1 car will be the San Felipe 250 the first week of April.
