ENSENADA, Mexico—Coordinated by SCORE Mexico Liaison Juan Tintos, two prominent newspapers in Baja California, Mexico have begun running insightful SCORE International News columns written by SCORE CEO/President Roger Norman. Healy Newspapers are running the column, which debuted this past Tuesday in the Frontera and La Cronica periodicals. They will appear in the print edition of each newspaper as well as the social media platforms of the two papers every other Tuesday.
The columns run in Spanish with Norman’s photo and are entitled Noticias de SCORE International.

In this week’s first SCORE International News, Norman thanks Healy Newspapers for allowing SCORE to have this prestigious and unique opportunity as well as mentioning that SCORE has produced these massive desert races for over 40 years in Baja California. This first column also presents a recap of the successful 2016 SCORE World Desert Championship and a little taste of what is in store for SCORE in 2017 including double purses for 2017 SCORE season class point championships.
The premier column also breaks down all of the advancements SCORE has made in recent years including in the areas of security and safety and the safety manual prepared by the office of the Baja California Secretary of Tourism.
It also speaks about the priority and importance SCORE has placed on its relationships with the government of the state, region and locally as well as private sector representatives.
The second SCORE International News column on Feb. 21 will review the results of great Mexican national teams in SCORE races as well as share much of the initial information regarding the season-opening 31st annual SCORE San Felipe 250.
A new element in these columns will feature historical notes regarding the SCORE Baja 1000, the Granddaddy of all Desert Races.

SCORE International was founded in 1973 by the late Mickey Thompson and headed by Sal Fish from 1974 until Roger and Elise Norman purchased SCORE on Dec. 20, 2012.
