Jason Coleman Is Taking The Long Way To Reno

Las Vegas, NV

Class 1000 points leader Jason Coleman will be taking “The Long Way” to the finish line at the Best in the Desert’s Vegas to Reno race, but he won’t exactly be taking in the sights. Best In The Desert is splitting the Vegas to Reno race into a two-day format this year. The teams will have an overnight stay in Tonopah, Nevada before resuming the action on day two.

The break allows BITD to add around a hundred additional miles to their usual course, 644 in total; that’s why they are calling it the “Long Way.” The Vegas to Reno course contains varied terrain including twisty technical sections in the mountains, silt, rocks, and many miles of graded roads that allow drivers to run flat out! The course rewards drivers who run clean and stay on course. A flat tire can cost you dearly when speeds are this high. That’s where Jason’s Radar Tires give him the edge. Not only do they give him excellent directional control but they are tough enough to withstand the punishment.

“I’m excited about the two-day format,” says Coleman, “We debuted our class 10 Jimco at Vegas to Reno two years ago and we had great success out of the box. We are looking to improve on that performance and take home a big win this year. It’s a great race and I think the two-day format will create tighter competition. We hope to build on our points lead for our sponsors Radar Tires, Golden Construction, Christian Belle Electric, Sunbelt Flooring, Avalon Fire Protection, Millers Woodworking, Universal Metro, Twin Steps Architecture, Lunas Plumbing, Rugged Radios, Baja Designs, Method Race Wheels, Jamar, LAT Racing Oils, VP Racing Fuels, McKenzie’s, Laughlin Tourism Commission, and SignPros We have a good plan; we are ready for anything.”

The Coleman Motorsports team will undergo technical inspection and contingency on Thursday, August 18 in the parking lot of the Aliante Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. On Friday morning, they depart from Alamo, Nevada for the first leg of the race north to Reno.
