After a few years hiatus the BITD Silver State 300 race is back on the schedule and today qualifying was held to determine start positions. The Silver State 300 is a very fast course so where you start is very important on getting a step ahead of the rest of the field.
Qualifying was held in a gravel lot off the freeway in Jean, Nevada where BITD setup a course that was more like a rally type track with lots of flat turns and no rough sections. The 1.75 mile loop was run twice by each racer to give more distance for qualifying.
Jason Voss ended up grabbing the fastest time with 3 Minutes and 58 seconds followed closely by Justin Lofton and Justin “Bean” Smith driving Tracy Grafs truck. Justin Matney and Kyle Jergensen round out your top 5.
CJ Hutchins was the quickest 1500 car finishing the loop in 4 Minutes and 6 seconds and Ryan Millen was the fastest 6100 truck with a time of 4 Minutes and 16 seconds.
Voss will have a big advantage on Saturday as BITD stretched out the gap between the bikes starting and the first 4 wheel vehicle to nearly 6 hours, so Voss should have lots of clean air until catching the lead bike which means everyone behind him will have their work cutout for them.
