Justin Davis Battles to 4th Place Finish at Bud Light SCORE San Felipe 250

For Immediate Release –

Montclair, CA – February 4, 2015:  In his return to the elite SCORE Trophy Truck Class at the season opening Bud Light SCORE San Felipe 250, Justin “El Rey” Davis let his driving answer the off-season critics with a  solid come from behind 4th place finish.  “We rolled the dice and requested a rear start knowing that every person we passed was a position gained.  Unfortunately, the wind blew in our face all day and we ran out of time before we could pick off anyone else” said Justin.  “While we go to every race wanting a win, I know we are running this season for a championship and I am excited to start the SCORE season with such a solid finish against some of the best in the world.”

The Green Army team didn’t take much time to celebrate their Class 1 win at the 47th Annual SCORE Baja 1000 last November.  Crew Chief/Co-Driver Ryan Desautels and Justin returned from Baja with a plan to return to the elite Trophy Truck Division in the Rigid Industries Jimco Trophy Truck for the 2015 season.  “There was plenty of talk on the internet about our team and Justin’s ability but we recognize that hard work in the shop and Justin’s driving skill will speak for itself this year.  We did our homework and preran the course and knew with a little luck we could be in a position to challenge for the win at his race” said Ryan Desautels, who navigated the entire race for Justin.  Unfortunately when the wind shifted, Justin and Ryan found themselves battling blinding dust in sections they planned on picking positions off.

The San Felipe loop is known for two things – shock-cooking whoops and tire-eating rocks hiding just beneath the surface.  “In one of the most punishing short races we will run all season, our BFGoodrich Tires and King Shocks performed flawlessly.  I had no doubt running just as hard the last 50 miles as the first 50 miles of the race” Justin said.  “Although this race was run entirely during the day, I have to thank Rigid Industries LED Lighting for all their support.  We don’t have the budget or the time to spend as much time pre-running as some other teams, so we have to make the most of our time down here.  The Rigid Industries Support allows me to make the most of our time pre-running, turning the day into night while seeing the course in the days leading up to the race.  We know as the season goes on, the Green Army Motorsports Trophy Truck will be a threat to win every race we enter.”
