KEN BLOCK AND HOT WHEELS® ANNOUNCE THE $10,000 KEN BLOCK AND HOT WHEELS® FAN VIDEO THROWDOWN.

March 14th, 2012, New York, New York – Ken Block and Hot Wheels are proud to announce the launch of The $10,000  Ken Block x Hot Wheels Fan Video Throwdown contest. Based around signature Hot Wheels RC Ken Block products (the Ken Block Fiesta Stunt Car and iNitro Speeders™ Ken Block Fiesta) the idea is simple: Give fans the chance to direct their own “Ken Block Gymkhana video” on a small scale and reward the best entry with a massive $10,000 cash prize, as well as the opportunity to join the master of Gymkhana at an upcoming test where the winner will be invited to take a crack at filming Block while he performs the real deal.

“I’ve been thrilled with having my very own Hot Wheels product,” said Block. “I loved playing with Hot Wheels growing up, so to have my own signature cars with them now is a dream come true. However, I’m really stoked about this contest because it gives fans the chance to win some serious money, as well as a chance to come see what I do live. It’s an amazing opportunity!”

Starting on March 14th and running until March 24th, fans will be able to submit videos that they’ve created as entries for the Ken Block x Hot Wheels $10,000 Fan Video Throwdown through the Ken Block Facebook page. From March 26th until March 28th, Block and the Monster World Rally Team will select the top 43 submissions as entry into the contest, announcing them via Facebook. Those 43 fans will then be sent their very own Hot Wheels RC Ken Block Fiesta Stunt Car and Hot Wheels RC iNitro Speeders Ken Block Fiesta. Once the top 43 have received their products, they’ll have from March 29th until April 9th to create their very own “Ken Block Gymkhana video” with the provided Hot Wheels products. On April 9th Ken Block and the Monster World Rally Team will select the top 7 videos according to the contest criteria. From April 12th – 17th fans themselves will be able to vote for the top 3 videos and finally on April 18th Ken Block himself will select the grand prize winner from the fan-voted top 3 clips.

“I can’t wait to see what the fans come up with,” said Block. “My fans are pretty amazing and we’re constantly getting emails from them that show their creativity. In these clips I’ll be looking for some of that creativity, as well as the contestant’s ability to promote their video, what sort of viralness they develop and, most importantly, their skill level of driving!”

What about a fan vs. driver in the real deal? Matching cars. Winner takes both slips. The fan if he wins a racing contract as a driver. What about that? Or make a bigger deal out of it and have fan vs fan for a driving deal new reality show ya know. But no BS on the driving none. Thanks for your time. Hope to hear from you.
