Compton, California (June 23, 2016) – The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series made its triumphant return to Ensenada, Mexico June 18-19 for Rounds 7&8 as Greg Adler and Team 4 Wheel Parts took on the world’s best off-road racers at the Baja International Short Course track at Estero Beach. Capacity crowds filled the seaside grounds and packed the grandstands for the two day doubleheader as Adler and his Pro 4 class counterparts provided the on-track excitement to the delight of the enthusiastic masses who gathered from both sides of the border to witness the short course off-road spectacle. While the event atmosphere took on the sensation of a South of the Border off-road celebration, Team 4 Wheel Parts and Adler remained focused on the important task of solving the unique Estero Beach course and the competition before them.

With Round 7 opening ceremonies completed, Saturday’s opening salvo found Adler quickly moving into second place leading the throng of angry Pro4s chasing the leader. As he opened up the gap between him and the third place challenger, Adler was looking toward a podium finish at the mandatory caution at the halfway point of the race. On the restart, his day took a turn as his 900HP truck struggled to maintain maximum power. Fighting to stay in contention, Adler fell back into the pack to 6th place as he took the checkered flag.

“We had the right combination of suspension set up and tire today,” said Adler. “We were up front, and putting some distance on the field going into the mandatory yellow. But on the restart we just didn’t have the horsepower and we were just working to defend our position. Mike (Seat) and the crew quickly diagnosed the problem as a fuel delivery issue and I’m confident they are going to get us dialed in and ready for tomorrow.”

Often times Pro 4 contests deteriorate into battle of attrition due to significant contact or mechanical failure of the machines’ highly advanced components while combatants battle for position on the narrow course. For Sunday’s seventh round, the surprising number of finishers was a result of a fast pace and clean exciting racing that required absolute perfection to finish on the podium. Adler ran a strong race in contending with the lead pack as he was hunting for a podium spot to complete the weekend. While sitting in third and engaging in one of the most exciting on-track battles of the day, he was pushed wide in lap 11 and surrendered the position. Ultimately, he came home in fourth.

“We know we fought hard today but we didn’t get the results we were looking for,” said Adler. “There was such a narrow gap in the top five today that one mistake was the difference between first and fifth. The truck was fast and we were running up front the whole race. After the hard work the team put into getting the truck ready for the day, we did everything we could to get the number ten on the podium. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t our day.”

But for Adler, the experience with the short course off-road racing fans in Baja left an indelible impression.

“Coming here to race at Estero Beach is an absolutely incredible experience,” he said. “We’re right here on the beach, the fans come early and we spend all day with them in the pits signing autographs, handing out stickers and taking pictures and then they are on their feet from the drop of the green flag all the way through the checkered flag. We’re already looking forward to coming back next season.”
